Family Portrait Session - Ben Savell Photography

Family Portrait Session

A good family portrait doesn't have to be static, posed and shot in front of a background. It can be shot anywhere! Is there a place that you and your family like to visit? Is there a particular location that means a lot to you? Or is there a place that just makes you feel relaxed and comfortable? Well, why don't we do it there? To get a great shot of not only your family, but you as well, everyone involved needs to be relaxed and having fun. A posed shot of the whole family on a park bench or a candid shot of you pushing the kids on a swing set are just as worthy of a place on your living room wall as a formal portrait. Photos (to me anyway) are a record of precious memories and no memories are more precious than the whole family spending time together and having fun.

So... I'm interested. What now?

It's pretty easy. Give me a call and we'll organise a meet. We'll sit and discuss what it is you are looking for, the kind of shots you want, the styles that you like as well as anything else that you would like to know. It's also a good idea to bring any younger children with you so they become familiar with me before the shoot (it helps to get the best out of them on the day). If you decide to book a shoot then we do it there and then. You pick a date and time to suit you (providing that time is available obviously) We sign a contract and you pay the deposit and we're set.

The day of the shoot - Do's and Don'ts

Do - Have everyone looking their best i.e. Men…. Shave etc. Bring a hair brush for the kids
Do - Wear solid colour where possible, patterned cloths can be distracting and take attention away from the faces in the picture.
Do - Enjoy yourselves, don't worry if the kids run around, mess about and play. Let them. If they are having fun then the shots of them will be infinately better.
Don't - Rush. Be ready and leave with plenty of time to spare. I'm a parent myself so i know how stressful it can be getting kids out of the door, so give yourself plenty of time. There's no point turning up for a shoot all stressed, red faced and sweaty because I won't be able to get the best from you.
Don't - Worry if you are going to be a little late. Just call me to let me know. I'll be sitting and waiting for you which isn't a problem. Sitting is one of my favourite pass times. I do a 2 hour shoot so we've got time for all eventualities

So… how much is it going to cost me?

The shoot itself is £99. That is for up to 2 hours of shooting in one sitting. More time can be arranged if you would like at a rate of £25 per 30 mins. In this price i include one 8x10 print of your choice. After that it is entirely up to you what you would like to purchase.

Every image is priced individually so you can pick and choose which you would like to purchase in either print or digital format direct from your gallery on the website. Alternatively you can purchase the gallery cd which includes all images for only £199.

Alternatively, there is the Gold package which includes the gallery cd with all the images, plus, a 5x7 print of all the regular images and 4 8x10 prints of any images you choose. So that's a digital copy plus a print of everything and all this comes in at only £349.
